Hi, I'm Marini (she/her)

Registered Psychologist | Co-Founder of Time & Space Psychology
Based in Naarm (Melbourne) | Telehealth across Australia

I was drawn to psychology because, growing up, I often felt alone in the world. I didn’t understand myself, the people around me, or the systems I was part of and they didn’t seem to understand me either. I knew early on that I wanted to help people feel seen, just like I had needed. My values and inner world didn’t always match what was expected, and this mismatch often left me feeling confused and unseen. Becoming a psychologist has allowed me to turn that experience into something meaningful: offering the kind of space I always needed.

My Approach

I offer therapy and assessment that is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and deeply respectful of each client’s pace.

I believe that healing happens through relationship, and that every person deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported exactly as they are.

My practice is grounded in warmth, transparency, and collaboration, with a strong commitment to evidence-based, client-centred care.

I often draw on:

  • Attachment theory and the Circle of Security model;

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed parts work;

  • Play-based and creative therapeutic approaches;

  • Emotion regulation tools;

  • Systemic collaboration with schools, teams, and families.

I love supporting children, adolescents, and parents, especially when we’re exploring identity, relationships, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing.

🌠 My Passion for Psychological Assessment

I have a strong background in psychological assessments, including:

  • Autism, ADHD, and AuDHD assessments;

  • Learning and cognitive assessments;

  • Strengths-based, developmentally informed reporting.

One of my favourite moments is when a parent receives feedback and says, "I get it now. I understand my child."

That clarity, relief, and deepened connection is what I always aim to provide, with reports that are clear, compassionate, and genuinely useful in everyday life.

🚀 Experience & Training

I’ve supported children, families, and young people in a range of settings including:

  • Primary schools in guidance counselling roles;

  • A child and adolescent private practice offering both therapy and assessments;

  • Community-based psychology clinics including QUT Health Clinic and the Caroline Chisholm Centre;

  • Telehealth work with families, educators, and allied health teams across Australia.

I am a trained clinician in Circle of Security Intensive (COS-I) and have completed additional training in both Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) and Circle of Security Assessment & Intervention. These approaches continue to shape how I understand behaviour as a form of communication, not something to fix or control.

I also enjoy working alongside the systems around my clients, schools, teachers, and other professionals, to ensure support feels holistic, respectful, and aligned.

🌌 More About Me

Outside of work, I love anything creative: art, craft, colouring, and poetry are some of my favourite outlets.

I’m a big fan of Taylor Swift, enjoy getting lost in Books (Manga and Fantasy are my favourites) TV shows and movies (Anime and Slice of Life are my favourites), and I share my home with five beloved cats (yes, five!).

I was born in Sri Lanka and feel a strong connection to nature, which gives me clarity and grounding. I’m also endlessly fascinated by human psychology, especially how attachment patterns shape our relationships over time.

And I really, really love mangos.
