Therapy for Adolescents
Adolescence is a time of deep growth, discovery, and challenge. There can be so much pressure to figure things out, fit in, and manage big emotions, all while navigating school, identity, friendships, and family life. We offer therapy that supports young people to explore who they are, understand their inner world, and build skills to move through life with more clarity and confidence.
What We Support Young People With
Some of the common reasons young people come to therapy include:

Anxiety or Stress

Identity Exploration & Self-Understanding

Navigating Neurodivergence (e.g. ADHD, Autism, PDA profiles)

Body Image & Self-Compassion

Emotional Regulation & Overwhelm

School Pressure or Burnout

Low Confidence or Self-Worth

Navigating Gender & Sexuality

Social Connection & Friendships

Family Changes or Conflict

Big Transitions or Uncertainty About the Future

Support with Grief, Trauma or Loss
Whatever a young person is navigating, we take time to understand their world and tailor support to meet them where they’re at.
What Therapy with Adolescents Looks Like With Us
Therapy with young people is all about creating a space where they feel genuinely seen, respected, and free to be themselves, without needing to mask, perform, or hold it all together. We meet each adolescent where they’re at, whether they’re ready to dive in, prefer to take things slowly, or express themselves best through humour, creativity, art, or quiet reflection.
Our approach is collaborative and strengths-based, guided by what feels safe and meaningful for the young person. We gently introduce evidence-based strategies and brain-based psychoeducation to help them understand how their brain works and why they feel or react the way they do. This supports emotional regulation, self-understanding, and identity development, using tools from ACT, DBT-informed approaches, emotion-focused work, and parts work informed by Internal Family Systems.
Therapy doesn’t have to mean just talking. We use creative approaches like drawing, shared visuals, storytelling, videos, and other playful or reflective tools to make sessions engaging and relevant. Sometimes, it’s simply sitting together and holding space, all shaped around the young person’s preferences and pace.
We offer therapy primarily via Telehealth, which many adolescents find comfortable and empowering. It allows them to connect from their own space and express themselves in ways that feel more natural, using tools like chat, shared whiteboards, or visual supports as part of the process.

Working Together with Families
Therapy is a private and affirming space for adolescents to express themselves freely. We follow ethical guidelines around confidentiality and always prioritise the safety and trust of the young person.
At the same time, we believe that young people are deeply shaped by the relationships and systems around them. Wherever possible, we work within those systems to support connection and growth. If it feels helpful (and the adolescent is open to it), we may involve parents or caregivers through brief check-ins, shared goals, or support with co-regulation and communication. This is always done gently and collaboratively, with the young person’s comfort and consent at the centre.
We also offer parent support sessions that focus on strengthening your relationship with your adolescent, even if they’re not directly engaged in therapy. These sessions can be a space to feel supported, reflect on what’s happening in your family, and explore new ways of connecting.
